Storytelling through beautiful moving images is what drives me, whether that’s covering an OB, crafting a sequence on location or choreographing camera movements around a studio space.

I have over 25 years’ experience working in television. My camera journey started after I secured a trainee position at the BBC. After completing the full training course, I worked as a full-time staff camera operator at the BBC for four years before taking redundancy in 2001. I’ve now been freelance for more than 20 years.

The flexibility that comes with being freelance means I’ve had opportunities to work on a whole range of programmes in a wide variety of roles – as a DoP, PSC lighting cameraperson, camera supervisor and operator. Whatever the production – small, large, location, live or studio – I bring my enthusiasm and friendly approach, as well as professional knowledge that comes from years of industry experience.

Put on the spot, I’d say my core strength is my adaptability – I love to lead a team in my role as your DoP or camera supervisor, but I’m equally happy joining your team as a camera operator. And I’m just as comfortable transmitting live on a ped in studio as I am recording handheld on location. Basically, I thrive on making great telly in any camera role.

For location work I usually use my own high-end cameras, lighting and grip equipment. I’m also a CAA authorised drone pilot.

I’m very proud to have been nominated for multiple industry awards and to be part of several BAFTA and RTS award-winning teams.

I love travelling both for work and recreation. You’ll find me at my happiest snowboarding and skiing with family and friends in the Winter or devouring a cream tea after battling the North Atlantic Cornish waves in the Summer.

I’m based in North Worcestershire, close to Birmingham with great access to the Midlands motorway network and beyond.
